Eugeni Bonet | Barcelona, 1954.
Since 1973 Bonet has worked in experimental film, video and other trans-media areas as a writer, programmer and curator, as well as in creation; he now considers "digital writer" to be the closest description to his multifarious activity. From 1973 to 1980 he developed various film projects and some videos which he understands as hypotheses –"ways of imagining the resolution of an idea, with film itself as the sketch"– and as yet-to-be-closed experiences, open to different configurations by way of multiple projections, loopings and other variations. Later his creations and audiovisual work sought to deal in a novel way with themes and personalities in contemporary art, particularly in his most personal projects on the art and life of Marcel Duchamp ("Duchamp, retard en video", 1986-87) and on the experimental poetry of J. E. Cirlot (the series "Lecturaes de Cirlot", 1997-98), where documentary elements combine with free creation.
